ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
Who we are
A nonpartisan home for research, education, and collaboration on the future of value-based care.
The American Institute for Value-Based Care, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing value-based care through research, education, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement. We exist to help the healthcare system pay for and deliver care in ways that improve quality, affordability, outcomes, and equity for all populations.
Our mission
To advance value-based care through education, research, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement that improve healthcare quality, affordability, outcomes, and equity for everyone.
Our vision
A healthcare system in which payment, delivery, and policy are aligned to achieve better outcomes, lower costs, healthier communities, and equitable access to high-quality care.
Our purpose
To serve as a trusted, nonpartisan center for research, education, collaboration, and innovation that accelerates the adoption of value-based care and promotes a more effective, equitable, and sustainable healthcare system.
What guides our work
Nonpartisan
We follow the evidence, not an ideology. Our analysis is meant to be useful to policymakers and practitioners across the political spectrum.
Rigorous
We hold our work to academic standards of transparency and method, while keeping it readable and actionable for decision-makers.
Equity-centered
We treat fairness across communities as a core test of value, not an afterthought layered on at the end.
Collaborative
We convene payers, providers, researchers, and patients, because durable reform is built together rather than imposed.
